Can you help with being a participant in a research study?

Hi, my name is Kerri Lewis, and I am a 4th year Psychology Honours student at the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. I am currently seeking participants for my research project investigating how invalidating emotional experiences in childhood impact on binge eating in adulthood by increasing the risk of shame and difficulties with emotion regulation.

Current understandings of binge eating are not well developed. Binge eating, like other eating disorders and other health and mental health issues, has no single cause. Multiple factors and pathways have been suggested. The relative importance of various factors generally, and for specific individuals who have binge eating disorder may vary. By participating in the current study you will allow us to gain some insight of the degree to which the factors and model we are examining applies or not.

We, therefore, invite all people aged 18 or over from all genders to participate in this study. You do not need to have experienced binge eating to participate, as we would like to compare and contrast the full spectrum of experience.

If you would like to participate in this study, please access the survey at the link below. The survey should take approximately 40-50 minutes to complete. All responses are completely anonymous and confidential.
