The Anorexia Nervosa Genetics Initiative (ANGI) is the world’s largest and most rigorous genetic investigation into the illness to date.

Researchers have long known of a genetic link to anorexia nervosa, with decades of studies indicating genes play a role in the risk of developing the disorder.

The ultimate goal of the Anorexia Nervosa Genetics Initiative (ANGI), therefore, is to identify and better understand the cause of anorexia nervosa, in order to eliminate the associated stigma, and to find a cure.
