Clinical Psychologist, NZPB
Amy is a passionate, lively therapist who believes in working collaboratively with anybody who wishes to make positive change in their life. She trained as a clinical psychologist at Victoria University in Wellington, before beginning her career at Lakes District Health Board working with children on the autism spectrum and their families. She also worked alongside children with chronic or terminal illnesses, supporting them and their families to come to terms with their situations while also leading meaningful, values-driven lives.
Having always been interested in eating disorders, Amy moved to Auckland in 2014 working at the public regional eating disorders service (now named Tupu Ora Services). Amy initially joined the adult team where she trained in Cognitive Bahvioural Therapy (CBT-E) and Specialist Supportive ClinicalManagement (SSCM). Following her passion for working with children and families, Amy has been working for the past four years in the child and adolescent team, where she trained in Family Based Therapy (FBT). Amy has experience treating anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and ARFID, and also in treating many of the issues that tend to come along with eating disorders, such as anxiety and depression. Amy is particularly interested in working with young people and their families and, as a proud member of the rainbow community, with LGBT individuals.
